The closing arguments by Jack Teitel's attorneys were supposed to be presented to the court on June 28th. We read in the newspaper that his attorney was sick however, and received a postponement until he recovers. We don't know when the next hearing will be.

A Psalm I read the other day encouraged me:

Psalm 7:11-12, 14-17 (NLT)

11 God is an honest judge.
He is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If a person does not repent,
God will sharpen his sword;
he will bend and string his bow.

14 The wicked conceive evil,
they are pregnant with trouble
and give birth to lies.

15 They dig a deep pit to trap others,
then fall into it themselves

16 The trouble they make for others backfires on them.
The violence they plan falls on their own heads.

17 I will thank the Lord because he is just;
I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

AMI NEWS

Two and a half weeks ago a pot of boiling water fell on my left foot, and I ended up with 2nd degree burns that covered the top surface of the foot. The pain has been terrible, but healing is steady. Many have been praying, and even though an infection in the foot complicated the healing a bit, and added to the discomfort and pain, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I would appreciate prayer for complete healing.

I can now understand even more the terrible pain that Ami suffered as he recovered from the bomb blast that so critically injured him. He had 2nd and 3rd degree burns on the upper part of his body and his legs which necessitated skin grafts. The recovery from the burns and skin grafts was long and extremely painful, and on top of that he was recovering from deep lacerations from the shrapnel wounds from his neck to his feet, and extreme pain from nerve damage in his arms. His hearing was impaired from the loss of both ear drums, his eyes were recovering from shrapnel wounds, and three toes were amputated, which was incredibly painful as well. Every morning his bandages had to be changed and the wounds dressed which he said was even more painful than anything he was experiencing. It was only by the grace of God and prayer that he was able to go through that unspeakably terrible time and the fourteen operations that followed, not including the plastic surgeries he will undergo in the future. No wonder he has developed such compassion for the suffering of others.

His time with us this summer is precious, and he is doing well, resting, working out in the fitness center, working part time, playing basketball when possible, and enjoying family. I will be returning with him to the U.S. at the end of August, God willing, to help him get ready for another school year, and to visit family.
Thank God for David, my husband, who has been undertaking for the family and bearing the load of ministry alone while I recover. He wanted to share some thoughts with you as well.

FROM DAVID

These past couple of weeks we've had an exciting time with many guests from all over the world. Every tour group and visitor who comes to Ariel have their own character and purpose. One interesting group that we were blessed to receive was from the US led by Moran Rosenblit. It is a group who comes every year with a practical twist, who come not only to visit the historical stones but the living stones here in Ariel and around the country. They also come not only to minister in word but also in deed, with what I call the "broom ministry". After we spent some time addressing the group of 25, they picked up brooms and garbage bags and as always, gave a powerful witness to my neighbors by cleaning the large, back courtyard and parking lot of our apartment complex. This sends a strong message as one of my neighbors said, they came here not just to observe, but to "put their hands in the soil". I think this is one of the best kinds of tourism, when you can do both.

I, and my 80 year old mother who is visiting from Florida, also had the privilege of worshipping together with a congregation of Ethiopian believers in one of their services in Tel Aviv. We really enjoyed the praise and worship! It was literally out of this world.

No wonder it says in Zeph. 3:10 that when God restores the exiles of His people Israel, He declares that it will be the Ethiopians who will be leading the exiles from the South in worship, or as it says literally in Hebrew, as burners of incense, and bringing the food offering.

Zeph. 3:10 (CEV)

10 From across the rivers
Of Ethiopia,
My scattered people,
My true worshipers,
Will bring offerings to me.

The Ethiopian Jews have been living in Ethiopia for many centuries. The demonic spirit of anti-Semitism does not distinguish between North American, Asian, Middle Eastern, African or Sephardic Jews. The natives of Ethiopia have never accepted the Jews of their nation so much so that they use the derogatory term for them "Falashas", meaning strangers or exiles. We had the privilege of Immigrating to Israel during the same period of time that they did, when we lived in Beersheva. Besides many things we observed about their society during that time, we realized that their culture was based on the principles of the Bible and of honor, in the way they conducted themselves and treated others. We appreciated and enjoyed that aspect of their society. Like all immigrants, they have been through a very difficult time in their absorption into Israeli society, but most of all, many of them have become very strong and firm believers in Yeshua as Messiah. What is also most amazing is that the prophet Isaiah foretold that they like other Jews, will be a sign to the nations, and that He will bring them back from the four corners of the world. (Isaiah 11:10-12. Note: the Biblical name for Ethiopia is Cush.)

Isaiah 11:10-12 (GNT)

10 A day is coming when the new king from the royal line of David will be a symbol to the nations. They will gather in his royal city and give him honor.11 When that day comes, the Lord will once again use his power and bring back home those of his people who are left in Assyria and Egypt, in the lands of Pathros, Ethiopia,Elam, Babylonia, and Hamath, and in the coastlands and on the islands of the sea.12 The Lord will raise a signal flag to show the nations that he is gathering together again the scattered people of Israel and Judah and bringing them back from the four corners of the earth.

Seeing the Ethiopian Jews worshipping the Lord Yeshua is a fulfilment that not only the prophets spoke about, but He gave us the privilege to see it with our own eyes. Please put them on your prayer lists that the Lord will continue to embolden them to reach out to their people Israel.

Below is a link to videos on You Tube that explain a little bit about the 20th century marvel of the Aliyah of the Ethiopian Jews. We would encourage believers that visit Israel to make a date and time to visit their congregations and to meet their elders to strengthen their hands as they share the Good News. Anyone wanting to participate in one of their projects can contact us and we will give you their contact information.

Last week William J. Murray came to visit, who is the son of Madeleine Murray O'Hair, a staunch Communist who took prayer out of public schools in America in the 1960's. He is a believer today, and is the Chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition, which is an organization based in Washington D.C. It is dedicated to preserving religious freedom in America and around the world. He's a regular contributor on many news outlets, including Fox News, CBS news, World Net Daily, and many others. We've had the privilege of being acquainted with him for over 12 years, and through him we've had the opportunity to meet and speak to many Congressmen and Senators. Even though Bill is a steadfast believer in Gods promises to the Jewish nation, he has not taken his eyes off the words of Yeshua, "for God so loved the world." The reason I point this out, is that sometimes we forget that we don't worship Israel, but the mighty God of Israel.

Even though I have never been present at any of Bills lectures, I and my family have benefitted from travelling around with him and hosting him in our home when he is in Israel. We have received a wealth of information just listening to his conversations with those he has meetings with. Just sitting down at a table with him and sharing a meal is an experience and a lesson in politics, government, Bible, history and good old common sense. After seeing the video below, you will be able to understand that He has truly become a trophy of God's love. Below also is a link to his website and his latest newsletter written from the Middle East. We would encourage you to order his autobiography, "My Life Without God" which he sells on his website. It is a challenging and encouraging life story.
