Ami has been doing very well in so many ways, in every realm of his life he is growing into a very charming and mature young man. He is greatly strengthened by prayer, and is thankful for you who are praying for him.

We went back to the hand surgeon the end of December, and were met with a surprise. Suddenly he and the head surgeon were questioning whether the dislocation of Ami's left thumb was even connected with the bomb explosion! They sa id that Ami's height which is unmatched by anyone else in the family, and the different structure of his hands, including overextended joints could be indicative of Marfan's disease which is a genetic disorder that is a very serious condition. A person with Marfan's most of the time has heart abnormalities that can cause sudden death if not treated, as well as other very serious conditions. They said until we checked this out, they couldn't go ahead with the surgery.

Well, we were astounded, but as soon as the thing was named, every doctor including our family doctor revealed they'd been thinking about this possibility as well. I realize that we all, separately and without talking to one another about it, looked up the condition on the internet and prayed against it in Yeshua's name. Our first step was to do a heart echocardiogram, which we did this week. By the time we got to the clinic to take the test, the Lord was already speaking to my heart - "no, he doesn't have that". Praise the Lord, the doctor doing the test told Ami that his heart is completely normal! There are a few other checkups we need to do, but we all have Peace at this point. Ami took the news in his customary calm way. He said, well, if I do have that thing, we'll just go on from there - meaning, it will be by faith like everything else that he's gone through.

The surgery that will be done on his hand is different than what we thought, and recovery time is 3 months (without touching a basketball, the doctor exhorted). Therefore we are going to try to schedule it for the beginning of May.

Our next stop was to go back to the Ear surgeon. He explained that the left ear surgery will be more difficult as there is nothing left at all of the ear drum, not even an edge for the new piece of muscle to grab onto. The right ear had 80% chance of success , which we didn't even know about, and through prayer and the mercy and grace of God was 100% successful. The other ear surgery has a 60% chance of success, but if it is not successful, the doctor explained that something always takes hold and at least a part of the hole will be covered, and then a second surgery would be necessary and is usually more successful. This is of course all in the natural and we ask you to please keep these surgeries in prayer. Of course we believe the Lord can do a miracle of restoration in each case, and so we expect only the best! The Ear surgeon said that if we want the surgery in July, he might not be in the country to do it, would we mind if another surgeon did it? Ami said, "if you trust him to do it, why not?" He then said an amazing thing - "I trust in our Father who is in Heaven, we're only his vessels". We cried out - that's what we believe too! Well, there was agreement on all sides, and we all left quite satisfied, and so we will see what the Lord will do - we trust Him above and beyond all.

These surgeries are both very challenging for Ami, with difficult recovery periods, and somehow it has gotten harder dealing with the continued after affects of that split second explosion that changed Ami's and our family's life forever. How grateful we are to our God who has raised up the Body to pray us through until Ami's complete recovery. How grateful we are to be in Yeshua the Messiah who is the Head of this amazing Body called The Body of Messiah!

THE NEXT COURT HEARING

The next hearing will take place, Lord willing, on January 19th. Teitel's first lawyer has quit. The organization that provided the lawyer apparently didn't see a chance of success, and so jumped ship. He now has a court appointed defence lawyer. In the meantime, there have been a series of articles that reveal Teitel's actual confessions of the crimes he is accused of, including drawings, maps, etc. Below is the link to an article which includes his drawing of the bomb hidden in the Purim basket that he admitted bringing to our door. It is all very chilling, and the more we read the more we realize that this individual is very dangerous. The other day I was surprised by a strong wave of intercession that came over me as I was praying, and prayer for Teitel and his wife came pouring out and up to the throne.

KOREA AND YONATAN GRANOVSKY

Ami, David and myself are invited to Korea the end of this week, for the opening of a documentary that was done by a believing Korean film crew this fall. The film is on the Restoration of Israel, and the Messianic believers in Israel. Ami's story is central to the film. We were pleasantly surprised that he was given permission at school to be absent for a week for this purpose. After Korea, Ami and I will return home, and David will continue on to Manila, Philippines where he will speak at an Epicenter conference with Joel Rosenberg. Please pray for travelling mercies, and for the Lord's anointing on us all. Please pray for those who are watching over our apartment while we are away as well. We've been joking with one another, that Korea is experiencing it's coldest winter in 50 years, and 6 hours from Manila, a volcano is about to erupt!

A few weeks ago Ami, David and I were able to visit Yonatan Granovsky, a 15 year old son of believers who has become ill with Leukaemia. He is in the same hospital that Ami was hospitalized in for the first six weeks, but on a different floor. Please pray for Yonatan and his family, they are fighting the good fight, and it was a too familiar scene that we encountered when we entered in through those doors again. The presence of the Holy Spirit was strong in the room, and I had a profound sense from the Lord that Yonatan is going to be alright. He has two other siblings, and his parents work in the ministry of Yeshua. They are precious people, and experiencing much blessing and victory also in their tragedy. The Body here is coming together to support them, and there are many praying for him around the world as well.

After fellowshipping and praying for Yonatan and his mother who was there, we left and Ami got off the elevator on the floor that he had spent 6 very hard weeks on almost two years ago. He told us to go on, he wanted to do something. He went there and looked around; I believe to think and reminisce, realizing how much the Lord has done in his life. It has been amazing to witness the miracle of recovery that has taken place, and you have been a vital part of it.

Philippians 3

7But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Messiah. 8What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Messiah Yeshua my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Messiah 9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Messiah-the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. 10I want to know Messiah and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Messiah Yeshua took hold of me. 13Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Messiah Yeshua. 15All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16Only let us live up to what we have already attained

Yours in the Messiah,

Leah
