May 20, 2010

Today was the big day - Ami's hand operation. Yesterday, May 19th we had a beautiful Shavuot meal and get together with my sons, daughter, her husband and our grandson. My daughter and family live ten minutes from the hospital, and so in the evening when the holiday was over, we brought Ami in to check into his room. He had to be on a fast from food and water from 12 midnight until the operation the next morning, and Natan slept over with Ami, roughing it sleeping on an arm chair all night. Then David and I were on the road by 6:30 AM to arrive at the hospital as early as possible to be with Ami before the operation. After some last minute procedures, Ami was whisked into the operating room at 10 AM. Of course everyone commented and laughed about the fact that he didn't fit in any bed or stretcher, and then we waited and prayed, and prayed and waited for two hours until we were notified that the operation had ended. He "slept very nicely" according to the nurse for an hour in recovery and when he woke up and was rolled out of the operating area, he actually was pretty alert and awake. The operation turned out to be a reconstruction of the thumb joint, and a pin was placed in the joint which will be taken out in a few weeks. We spoke only briefly to a doctor, who said the operation was successful but we'll take it day by day and see how the recovery goes - we believe in 100% success because Ami is in Yeshua's hands. God willing, he'll be able to come home tomorrow. Thanks to my sons who have been helping out, taking care of Ami as well, sleeping there, and keeping him company. Thanks to my daughter who sent Ami off with all kinds of delicious food for before and after the operation, and a peach cobbler.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for speedy and full recovery, and for cessation of pain. Please pray that there will be no infection or complications, and that Ami will have the spiritual, emotional and physical strength that is needed for recovery from this operation and for the next operation coming up in July. In between he has college matriculation exams, which take place in Israel from the 10th to 12th grades and are very tough. The physical activity that Ami is used to and is part of his life will be totally restricted during recovery from these two operations, and so please pray for grace for him, and patience and perseverance in the Holy Spirit.

MORE "RESTORATION THE MOVIE"NEWS

We have some amazing news - the Korean film "Restoration" won the first prize for full length documentary in the Monaco Charity Film Festival. Here is the website where you can see it announced - it is under "Feature Documentary" http://www.monacofilmfestival.de/11-0-Awards-2010.html

Joanne Lee, the producer of the movie, called the moment they won with such excitement! She said, "We won the grand prize! All the glory to Yeshua!" What an honor! May the name of Yeshua continue to be lifted up in the earth in these last days.

JOHN 8:23-30
23 And He said to them, "You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." 25 Then they said to Him, "Who are You?" And Yeshua said to them, "Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning. 26 I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him." 27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father. 28 Then Yeshua said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. 29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him." 30 As He spoke these words, many believed in Him.

Yours in the Messiah,

Leah
