SHALOM to all and happy Shavuot, or feast of Weeks. This Biblical feast is the fourth and last of the Spring feasts. On the 4th day of the Passover week, which is the Feast of First Fruits -the day that Yeshua rose from the grave, the counting of the omer begins - which is the counting of 50 days until the harvest festival of Shavuot is celebrated. The holiday corresponds to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, where in the English Bible the feast is called by it's Greek name, Pentecost. Fifty days after Yeshua rose from the grave, the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Body of Believers in Jerusalem, and a new age began.

We pray that Israel will be drenched with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit during this time - we need it as desperately as we need physical water. In Israel, we are facing the most serious drought in our history. The water level of our only water source in the country, the Sea of Galilee, or the Kinneret in Hebrew, is so low that we were told on the news that this summer, if we don't conserve, we'll have unannounced periods of time when the water will be turned off!! In Israel we have the dry season in spring and summer and rainy season in the fall and winter, and so we have no hope of rain refilling the Lake that we call a Sea until the late fall.

Water of the Holy Spirit

The need for the water of the Holy Spirit in this land is desperately needed as well. As I wrote in my last update, we are continuing to face a manifestation of violent hatred against the Name of Yeshua. As I was watching Israeli news on TV- I saw the commentator and the presenters, and suddenly the Lord showed me the emptiness in their lives. I began to think how the enemy has succeeded in alienating the Jewish people from the person of Yeshua, so much so that we who believe are no longer considered Jewish. We have been called to bear His reproach outside the gate along with Him, and sometimes it is a lonely feeling.

Hebrews 13:12-14 Therefore Yeshua also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. 13 Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. 14 For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.

However, tonight I was allowed to see the lack of substance in the lives of the Israeli's, who consider themselves within the camp, and it brought me back to the time before I came to faith in Yeshua, and my lack of knowing who I really was as a Jew and a human being. I found my true identity and understanding of who I am only in the Messiah.

Please pray for revival in this nation. The Bible says that when Israel is once more grafted in to the Messiah, it will be life from the dead for the rest of the world, resurrection life! (Romans 11:11-15)

We had a good appointment with the head doctor of the rehab hospital. We went to talk about Ami's progress and also his medication. The doctor was so pleased to hear about the ear drum graft, no more pressure suit, the discovery of the dislocation of his thumb, and the easing of the pain in his left hand. He recommended that Ami should eliminate one of the pills from the medication he takes daily for nerve pain. This is very agreeable to Ami who doesn't like to take medication. One good thing that has sprung out of this ordeal, has been that David, Ami and myself take vitamins now daily!! Ami even asked me to add Fish Oil capsules to his daily regimen!! I was amazed.

BLESSED FELLOWSHIPS

We've had the privilege to receive several groups of visitors from all over the world the past couple of weeks. One group from Canada has an internet TV ministry. They do 3 minute daily devotionals of Israelis giving a short teaching on a verse or verses. They filmed David and I for some of these, which they call "putting a face to the land". They also plan on doing a 20 minute film on "forgiveness". The website for the devotionals is: http://www.landandpeople.ca/dailyfocus.htm if you are interested.

Every time we retell the testimony of what God has done in our lives this past year, I speak about you, and how together, praying and being One in Yeshua, miracles have taken place which have Glorified His Name. Thank you for continuing to pray - we will be seeing the hand specialists in two weeks to schedule the surgery for Ami's left hand. All of these surgeries are two steps backward, and then many steps ahead. Surgery is not easy for Ami to recover from, and we have two scheduled for this summer, on his left hand and left foot.

May your lives be filled with the Spirit to overflowing!

Leah
